The Timișoara-based post-black metal project Pâenil Era has released a new lyric video for the track “The Chain,” taken from the upcoming album “Idle Cage,” which will be released via Neuronoir on September 19, 2024.
Representing an anagram of the words ‘Pâlnie Rea’ (Bad Funnel), Pâenil Era is a post-black metal project from Timișoara, Romania, that started in 2012, initially under the name ‘Signatura Rerum.’ The project symbolizes a broken or partially functional filter that channels a flow of dark thoughts from the subconscious, representing an attempt to connect with the subconscious and give a voice to the darker side of the psyche.
‘Idle Cage’ is the fourth full-length album and comprises 4 interconnected tracks, totaling approximately 32 minutes. Lyrically, the album addresses themes of escape, freedom, and inner conflict. It’s about the desire to escape and the challenges that come with it.
The album will be released through Neuronoir, a new record label from Romania focused on post-metal, black metal, and other derivatives. The album will be available on CD and cassette, and can be pre-ordered now at https://neuronoir.art/
