Summer is usually the season of concerts and festivals, but it’s also when underground bands release new singles and albums. This is also the case with Vandaal’s new single, “Paranoia,” set to be released this month.

The song’s intro kicks off with powerful drums and nothing else, instantly building hype and curiosity about what’s coming next. The answer is straightforward and expected: a guitar. But it’s not just any guitar—it’s a sound that heightens expectations with a Gojira-like tone, quite different from what I knew of the band, especially compared to their first release, Devil’s Daughter.

The vocals come in a bit later, seamlessly blending with the guitar and drums to the point that I didn’t even notice when they started. The mix is perfect, creating a natural transition. The vocals are divided into multiple sections, all tightly woven together with the sound of the drums—I’d call it the perfect headbanging pause for all of us.

The repetition in the lyrics with three different tonalities around the second minute showcases just how talented the vocalist is and highlights the band’s potential. Immediately after, the backing vocals enter, adding a mysterious and eerie atmosphere.

The last 30 seconds are pure chaos, starting with a deep silence before erupting into a powerful growl to close it out—perfect, considering the name of the song, isn’t it?

And if you thought I forgot to mention the lyrics… well, I didn’t. I’m just letting you listen to the whole song and connect with them yourself. I can’t describe them—just enjoy.

It’s clear that these guys are taking the band to the next level. They’re definitely a band to watch. They might just be the next RoadkillSoda, or maybe even bigger.
