On Friday, September 13th, Alone at Parties, a band from Cluj, made up of Andrei, Casiana, Dani, Florin, and Lazăr, released a new single through the record label Cirkular.

At first listen, the track gives off an impression of optimistic energy, thanks to the vibrant synthesizers and electric guitar lines that blend together naturally. However, the lyrics reveal a contrasting theme.

Lazăr, the band’s vocalist, explains the idea behind the song: “It started as a song about hope. Tired of melancholic tunes, I wanted something different, a glimmer of optimism that things would eventually fall into place. Still, I found it hard to resonate with the initial drafts of the lyrics, so I decided to shift toward the idea of a fictional dystopian wellness center that sells cures for any problem. The last elements added to the track were the backing vocals, which, though initially seeming like a minor detail, became my favorite part and one of the main themes of this single.”

For the music video, the band opted for a DIY approach, enlisting the help of friends from Cirkular to film over a weekend spent at a cabin. The video captures authentic, natural moments with the band members having fun in flower-filled fields or exploring mountain trails, adding a personal and intimate touch.

This is the fourth single from their debut album, Familiar Faces, which is set to be officially released on September 27th.
