Taiga Dream picked up instruments as a local Bucharest band in 2018 – an alternative/post metal band, playing groovy rhythms and dream tunes with no regard to conventions. At its beginning the band was purely instrumental, but in time they have altered their lineup. In 2023 a new rhythm guitarist (Horatiu) joined them, as well as, for the first time, a vocalist (Andrei).
Taiga Dream has committed to play diverse and intense metal grooves, but also mix in dreamy tunes, with no regard to restrictions or norms. The band is planning to release their first album in 2025, pre-announced by the launch of “Orion Grove” EP in September 2024.
“Orion Grove” offers a preview of the themes tackled by the band – a dance of earthly and cosmic existence, the subtle transition from hunter to prey, and back again, but also a novel embrace of a translucent, metallic and mystic dream.
Together with the 2 singles released in the beginning of 2024, the band has already recorded and shared publicly 6 songs with vocals, all available on YouTube and Spotify. Alongside the audio tracks, they have also released 2 self-made music videos that showcase their songs: Ariadna`s Hope and Step Away, available on YouTube.
Taiga Dream`s music is a strong testament to the bands message, a capture of a day to day existence in a world deeply marked and guided by superficiality, perversion, narcissism, and depersonalization, as a statement against conformity and nihilism. Each song is composed by the band’s members, and each individual brings his own interpretation of the message. In their words “the beauty of Taiga Dream consists precisely in the freedom to play and sing one`s rock as one feels, without much indication”.
