In early 2023, Getchoo emerged on the underground music scene as a solo project, releasing the DIY bedroom pop EP “Songs From The Living Room”.
Created by Victor, who recorded and produced the EP entirely in his own living room, the project was born out of his frustration with the lack of progress in his previous band. The EP delves into personal themes like growing up, navigating failed relationships, and dealing with anxiety about the future, all captured through catchy choruses and introspective lyrics.
What began as a solo endeavor soon evolved into a full-fledged indie rock band, with the addition of three new members: Daniel, Bucur, and David. The band’s sound incorporates post-punk and power pop influences, while the four members—Victor, Daniel, Bucur, and David—first crossed paths through Bucharest’s local music scene, meeting at concerts and becoming part of the vibrant community of musicians.

Getchoo made their live debut in 2023, opening for local band D.E.N.I.S. Their subsequent performances included a show at the DIY venue “Filaret 16” alongside UK-based project Catholic Block, and an opening performance for PLANT during the launch of their “ELECTROCASNIC” album on November 23, 2023.
The band’s second song as a group, “Cadaver,” has become a staple in their live shows, likely performed at every one of their gigs to date. “Cadaver” also marks the first single from their highly anticipated debut album “WILL”, set to be released in October. Fans can look forward to 10 tracks, all written and produced by the band themselves.
The album “WILL” is slated for release on October 11, 2024, with a launch event at Control Club. The single “Cadaver” was produced by Getchoo, and recorded, mixed, and mastered by their own Daniel. The artwork was created in Cluj by Cosmin and Mircea Bozac, while the album cover was designed by Sergiu Frățilă using a photo of Wes.
