Armand Popa launches the single “When I’m Forty,” an indie folk track that delves into
loss, regret, and the impact memories have on life. Written during a moment of vulnerability, the song offers a sincere and profound meditation on lost love.
Armand’s latest single speaks of a dream once shared with a loved one, now existing only in memories. The song is an emotional indie anthem, with evocative lyrics and a melancholic melody that perfectly captures the bittersweet pain of nostalgia.
With an organic sound, complemented by the guitars of Dan Georgescu, who also
mastered the track, When I’m Forty is a sincere musical confession that makes you feel the weight of every word.

“I’m sure that each of us has experienced disappointment at some point. I put my pain
into musical notes and lyrics — I think that’s the best way for me to express myself. At the same time, it’s therapeutic for me,” says Armand. “I hope the song When I’m Forty reaches as manypeople as possible who need it.”
This single follows his debut album, Joy of Missing Out, released in October 2024, a
collection of songs reflecting Armand’s journey as an artist and as a person. This song stands out for its deeply personal nature, showcasing Armand’s growth as a producer and songwriter. Drawing inspiration from artists such as John Frusciante, Tame Impala, and Radiohead, Armand’s music combines neo-psychedelic, shoegaze, and indie influences. His project represents a personal journal set to music, where he honestly and vulnerably explores life’s ups and downs.
Fans will be able to hear the song live for the first time on January 21 at Club Control in Bucharest.
“When I’m Forty” is available on all streaming platforms.
