BandBook Agency celebrates its second anniversary with a two-day mini-festival featuring eight artists from its portfolio: Ana Coman, Pinholes, Delta Pe Obraz, Paul Tihan, Cristina Lupu, Andra Andriucă, Prima Dragoste, and Diana Căldăraru. The event takes place at FORM Space in Cluj-Napoca, from January 28 to 29, 2025.

This marks a year since the first BandBook Showcase at the Expirat club in Bucharest and two years since the official launch of the service platform. During this time, the agency’s team and the artists it represents have experienced countless concerts, launches, and tours, fulfilling ideas and dreams along the way.

We spoke with Paul Tihan, an artist from Iași who, after a raw-acoustic phase in the past, has transformed his project into a quintet that brings his thoughts and experiences to light. His work doesn’t fit into any specific musical genre but is more of a journey unfolding in chapters that reveal the subtle layers of life. In his own words, Paul describes his music as indie poetry rock.

How does it feel to be part of a showcase festival, and how does it differ from a regular show in your opinion?

The meeting with the dear BandBook agency has brought many wonderful things to happen for my musical project, and now that they are creating a mini festival in Cluj, it’s absolutely amazing. The thing that makes this show truly unique is that it’s a festival where the entire agency lineup will take the stage, making it feel like one big musical vacation for the BandBook family.

What are you most excited about for the BandBook Showcase?

I am very happy to reconnect with the dear people of Cluj, and what excites me the most is the fact that all of us artists from the BandBook agency will be together. It’s going to be an amazing show!

What is one thing the public probably doesn’t know about you or your music that you’d like to share before the show?

My music is constantly evolving, and starting this year, I’m ready to release new music and unveil the new colour of the Paul Tihan project to the world.

As 2024 just ended, what is the most important thing you learned, and what was your best moment of the year?

In 2024, I learned that everything is possible only through a lot of hard work, dedication, and faith in music and what you do. The highlight of 2024 was the release tour for my latest single, “Linii Subțiri,” during which we performed live shows in the most important cities across the country. We reconnected with our beloved fans, who at every concert left a kind thought on the poster featuring the single’s artwork. Wonderful!

You’re starting 2025 really strong, so what plans do you have for this year? How many of them are must-achieves for you?

This year kicks off with us in the middle of the release tour for our next EP, “Noduri.” It’s our biggest and most complex project to date, and we’re so excited to embark on this journey. Our must-achieves are to reach as many cities as possible, play at festivals and to ensure that the music of this project reaches as many ears as it can.

What message do you have for people and young artists who want to pursue a career like yours?

A lot of hope and trust in your songs and in what you want to express through your art. And, as mentioned previously, a lot of hard work. In the beginning, it’s crucial that, in addition to being an artist and songwriter, you also try to take on roles like videographer, content creator, graphic designer, and all the other tasks that help a brand exist and thrive.
