Timișoara Post-Rock project Ciel just released the lyric video for “snakes IN the grass” and announced the upcoming album “S.R.A.T.M.E.O.”

Ciel—French for “sky”—embodies the culmination of abstract concepts. Since its formation in 2016, the project has aimed to capture fundamental human emotions and experiences through a philosophical lens. From Odysseus to the Vast and Empty, and now with S.R.A.T.M.E.O., Ciel continues to evolve both emotionally and ideologically.

Set for release on March 3, S.R.A.T.M.E.O. will be available on all major streaming platforms and as a limited cassette edition of 50 copies. Pre-order here.

The album title, Silent Revolutions Are The Most Effective Ones, reflects a deep contemplation on personal growth. There comes a moment in life when one realizes that not everything holds the same subjective weight, and sometimes, the most transformative revolutions are silent and internal. This album explores the idea that meaningful change—perhaps all change—begins within before manifesting outwardly in search of recognition and validation. Through its sound and storytelling, S.R.A.T.M.E.O. encourages listeners to embrace the quiet yet powerful transformations that shape who we become.

The track “snakes IN the grass” serves as an analogy to a recurring motif found across Indo-European mythological traditions. It seeks to depict cosmological order from a near-animistic perspective while drawing influences from Middle Eastern theology.
