Applications have opened for the 5th edition of the Women in Music Mentorship Program, the first mentoring program dedicated to women at the beginning of their careers in Romania’s music industry. Over the course of approximately 6 months, 10 women leaders from the music industry will mentor 10 women who are just starting their careers, providing them with support, information, and inspiration. Those interested can apply for free on the Women in Music Romania website.

The 5th edition of the Women in Music Mentorship Program continues to address the issue of the underrepresentation of women in the music industry. Although their voices are heard on major stages in the country and around the world, it is also crucial for them to be heard behind the scenes in the entrepreneurial world. Previous editions of the program have had a significant impact on the creative industries, offering participants their first job in the music industry, helping them transition from passion to profession, and giving them a clearer vision of the industry along with answers to questions they didn’t even know they had.

The Women in Music Mentorship Program focuses on both the professional and personal aspects of the participants, with one of its missions being to create a united community with shared values where members can connect and support each other #womensupportingwomen.

Each edition has brought its own challenges and new sources of motivation, and constant feedback has led to the continuation and improvement of the program. The 4th edition took place over 3 intense months, featuring regular individual and group meetings, as well as a “graduation project” in the form of organizing Romania’s first songwriting camp dedicated exclusively to women, symbolically named “HerTune.”

“For me, this experience was a moment of validation of what I already sensed last year, namely that my place is in the music industry. I got everything I wanted from the mentorship program, from relevant information to connections, support, and practical work. Moreover, being given the opportunity to join the Women in Music team and create such experiences for other women added an extra layer of joy and fulfillment,” says Monica-Elena Costin, mentee in the 4th edition of the Women in Music Mentorship Program and now a member of the Women in Music team.

This edition will run for approximately 6 months, during which participants will have individual sessions with the 10 mentors, group meetings, encounters with artists, workshops, and visits to various organizations in the music industry, such as Kiss FM, Global Records, or UNTOLD.

The mentors of the 5th edition of the Women in Music Mentorship Program are:

  • Ana Filip – General Manager, Universal Music

“Being a mentor in the Women in Music program is an incredible opportunity to pass on everything I’ve learned so far and support the next generation of the music industry. For me, it’s about real connections, exchanging ideas, and mutual inspiration. I’m curious to discover my mentee’s dreams and vision, and if I can make their path a little easier or clearer, then I can say I’ve achieved my goal. I’m excited to see what new energy and perspectives the program brings – and, of course, to grow alongside the person I will be guiding,” says Corina Vîlcu, Head of Marketing and Promotion at Global Records and mentor in the 5th edition of the mentorship program.

Applications for the Women in Music Mentorship Program are open from February 3, 2025, to March 30, 2025.
