Robin and the Backstabbers return with a powerful new release: Ritualul Primăverii, an EP pulsating at the boundary between love and death, separation and wholeness, prophecy and incantation.

“The Ritual of Spring has begun! The creation process was both tumultuous and tender. Initially intended as a single, the planets aligned in such a way that we couldn’t resist transforming it into an EP. I’d dare to say it was like a pregnancy—you’re aware of it, but then you find out you’re expecting triplets. Robin has been not only an artist at Cuib Records but also a producer on our team since day one. That’s why the release of Ritualul Primăverii is particularly special for us,” said Călina Purje, Label Manager at Cuib Records.

Just as the Earth’s revolution brings the cycle of decay and renewal in nature, Ritualul Primăverii reshapes the sonic DNA of the band, opening it to a grander, more monumental dimension. The new EP both captivates and unsettles with its fusion of alternative and symphonic elements, along with enigmatic lyrics—somewhat like first love or the fear of death, like the first act of desire or the final breath.

The EP features the single Ritualul Primăverii, written by Andrei Robin Proca on July 5, 2024, alongside orchestral versions of both Ritualul Primăverii and Golem, arranged by Dora Gaitanovici. Speaking about Ritualul Primăverii, Andrei stated that it is the song that represents him best: “Everything said in this song is exactly what I needed to express. And I don’t even mean the words, which are just a whim.”

Accompanying the EP release is a music video for Ritualul Primăverii, directed by Răzvan Leucea. The launch is followed by a special event aligned with the ongoing Planetary Parade. Tonight, February 28, Robin and the Backstabbers will take the stage at Sala Palatului in Bucharest, alongside Alt Orchestra, for a unique musical experience. Set against an atmosphere of mystery, filled with symbols of creation and destruction, the performance will build towards a breathtaking finale—an event where chaos and order, past and future, will converge in perfect harmony.
