On April 23rd at 7:00 PM, Control Club Bucharest will host the very first Foreign Humour Artist Showcase, a milestone event marking the live debut of Foreign Humour Productions (4h Productions), a new independent record label with a studio and in-house production team based in Bucharest. With the motto “Keeping music cool since 2022,” 4h Productions is redefining the creative process by placing artistic integrity at the forefront.

Founded by Matei Tibacu-Blendea, known for his time as guitarist in Coma, bassist in Bosquito, and for launching experimental projects like The Details, Illuminati, Lost Society, and Cyborg, Foreign Humour Productions is the culmination of over a decade of diverse musical experience. Matei has worked with artists associated with legends such as Black Sabbath, Dio, R.E.M., Peter Gabriel, and The Mars Volta, bringing a wealth of sonic knowledge to the label’s philosophy.

The Foreign Humour Artist Showcase will spotlight four genre-bending artists from the label’s roster, each unveiling new releases, from debut EPs to brand-new singles and videos. Here’s what to expect:

Brainwasher

Launching their debut EP, Brainwasher is a post-hardcore/dance punk act from Bucharest, formed in 2024. The band channels the raw spirit of punk with a club-ready energy, citing influences like LCD Soundsystem, Death From Above 1979, and Fugazi. Their lyrics tackle social issues, class divides, and the sterile nature of digital life with sharp cynicism and self-awareness.

Nixa

Releasing a new single and video, Nixa is the unique sonic vision of Denisa Pătru from Pitești. Described by Matei as “the most unique project” he’s worked on, Nixa defies easy categorization with experimental compositions and a sound that breaks genre boundaries. It’s a perfect embodiment of Foreign Humour’s mission to celebrate originality.

RusT

Another debut EP is coming from RusT, a high-energy alternative rock band from Bucharest, formed in January 2025. United by a shared passion for heavy music, the band brings a fresh, dynamic twist to the genre with their original tracks.

Walking to the Moon

Following the release of their live studio single “Hoața” (“The Thief”), this alternative rock act from Bucharest joins the showcase with poetic songwriting and atmospheric vibes, bringing emotional depth to the lineup.

The event isn’t just about music, it’s also about meaning. A portion of the profits will be donated to Asociația PAVEL, a Romanian organization supporting children battling cancer. This cause is close to Matei’s heart, as his mother was a volunteer with the group for many years.
