Melancholic alternative rock band Rana, hailing from Pitești, Romania, is back with a powerful new single titled “Să zburăm” (“Let’s Fly”), the first release from their upcoming album Despre dragoste și alte dezastre (About Love and Other Disasters), due out in spring 2026.

Known for their emotionally charged sound that blends alternative rock with indie and emo influences, Rana continues to explore themes of love, longing, and vulnerability through raw, poetic songwriting. With over 100 concerts played on some of Romania’s most important stages and three acclaimed EPs under their belt — Verde electric, Codependent, and Noi doi (versus restul lumii) — the band has carved out a distinct space in the local rock scene.
Their new track, “Să zburăm,” was born from a moment of inspiration but was shaped and refined through countless hours in rehearsal. The result is a track that carries both uplifting energy and bittersweet introspection — a love song that dares listeners to rise above the ordinary and embrace the unknown.
“Who doesn’t need wings? Who doesn’t need feelings? Who doesn’t need to feel something?” Rana asks. “This song is a message captured in an extra-poetic frame. If our previous EP spoke of solid love and the desire to isolate from the world with someone, this new single simply says: let’s fly — and we’ll see what happens after.”
The band’s lineup features:
- Bogdan Tănăsescu – guitar & vocals
- Mihai Matei – bass
- Ștefan Maidaniuc – drums
As the title of their upcoming album suggests, Rana is diving deep into the emotional chaos and beauty of love, while continuing to reflect on the deeper wounds and joys that make us human. “Să zburăm” is now available on all streaming platforms, and it marks the beginning of a new, exciting chapter for the band.
Fans will also have the opportunity to hear the song live on May 6th, when Rana performs at Expirat in Bucharest — a not-to-be-missed concert for those who crave emotionally rich, atmospheric rock. Tickets are now available here.
