The metalcore band Hiraeth, hailing from Iași, Romania, has just released a striking new music video for their latest single, “Akinesia.”

The track, which was originally nicknamed “bojo2”, began as an inside joke among the band members. It was often played during soundchecks before live shows and remained unnamed for a while. The random title “bojo2” eventually stuck, despite the fact that a “bojo1” never existed. Over time, however, the band decided it was time to give the piece a proper name — and thus, “Akinesia” was born.
The music video was directed and filmed by Răzvan Lupașcu, a well-respected figure in Iași’s underground music scene, known for his professionalism and numerous collaborations with local artists. The video was shot in a particularly meaningful location — the very building where Hiraeth rehearses and records, adding a personal and intimate touch to the visual experience.
Lyrically and thematically, “Akinesia” captures the paralyzing sensation of being trapped within oneself — watching the world pass by while feeling unable to move with it, despite a deep longing to do so.
The single is now available on all major streaming platforms.
