Every summer, Periam Port transforms into a symbolic land of freedom and artistic expression, a place where music is not just a show but a means of deep connection between people and nature. The Rock la Mureș festival turns this corner of the world into an open stage for collective emotion, where every chord helps shape a shared experience marked by joy, solidarity, and authenticity.
Rock la Mureș once again brings together iconic bands from the alternative and punk scene, both local and international, offering a vibrant meeting place for fans of niche sounds in Romania.
About the bands:
Cred Că Sunt Extraterestru is an alternative hip-hop band from Romania, founded in 2015, known for its unique sound blending a wide range of musical genres. The band’s name reflects their eclectic approach and ability to create something new and distinct for the Romanian music scene.
Their sound combines rap, hip-hop, electronic, and rock influences, with live instruments and a dynamic stage presence that brings their music to life. They have built a strong fanbase through innovative songs combining meaningful storytelling with powerful performances.
They explore both personal and collective experiences through complex rhythms and sophisticated compositions. Their genre-blending and universal themes have made them one of Romania’s most beloved and respected bands.
Partizan is a musical project formed in 2001 by the iconic Răzvan “Suedezu” Moldovan and Adrian “Artan” Pleșca, childhood friends and founding members of the band Timpuri Noi in the early ’80s. Both are legendary figures in the Romanian rock scene, symbols of resistance against the system, more monuments than men.
Strictly by sound, Partizan defies easy categorization, mixing social satire with surreal lyrics. The band describes itself as post-punk/industrial/rock inspired, but fans know no two concerts are alike, and innovation is a core aspect of the band’s identity.
Recently, they released a new album, Nori peste Sălăjan, enthusiastically received by the public and press, which will premiere at Periam Port for those who haven’t heard it yet.
Schëppe Siwen is a folk punk band from Luxembourg, formed in December 2009, whose name translates as “Seven of Spades.” They quickly gained deserved recognition thanks to their energetic shows and unique fusion of traditional folk music with the raw energy of punk rock.
In 2016, they released Sprëtztour, an album presenting a more refined sound while maintaining their raw, energetic style that had become their trademark. The album launch took place at Melusina, a popular venue in Luxembourg, where they played to a large, enthusiastic crowd.
Their growing popularity led to international shows and between 2017 and 2019, Schëppe Siwen toured Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany, playing over 200 concerts.
In 2024, they collaborated with Greenpeace Luxembourg in a campaign against massive deforestation.
Anchorage is one of the most acclaimed names in the Austrian post-hardcore/modern metal scene. Since formation, they’ve made an immediate impact with an energetic sound combining post-hardcore tension, very technical modern metal passages, and catchy harmonious fragments, all produced to perfection.
Anchorage started their rise on one of the world’s biggest rock stages, Nova Rock Festival, where their show made waves still felt today.
In 2019, with the release of their debut EP, Anchorage was placed by Impericon, a leading platform for modern metal, in the Top 25 Emerging European Bands.
Watch Me Rise, emo/post-hardcore band from Frankfurt, Germany, returns this year to the Rock la Mureș stage, after creating a memorable atmosphere two editions ago on the Marosch stage.
With hundreds of live shows and impressive European tours, they have established themselves internationally, exploring universal and deeply personal themes. Drawing from emo, punk rock, post-hardcore, and screamo, they have developed a constantly evolving but unmistakable sound.
Howl Like Wolves, formed in early 2021 during the global pandemic, turned uncertainty into creative energy and crafted their own vision of modern metalcore. Their sound is powerful and atmospheric, reminiscent of Architects or Spiritbox, blending pure intensity with hypnotic melodies.
2024 marked a milestone with the release of the single Unholy, setting new musical standards. They also shared stages with big names like Ghostkid, Mushroomhead, Within Temptation, and From Fall to Spring.
Downstroy is a groove metal band formed in 2004 in Kikinda, Banat, Serbia. Over the past two decades, they have performed hundreds of concerts, including appearances at major festivals like Wacken Open Air and Exit Festival’s main stage. They have shared the stage with internationally renowned bands such as Soulfly, Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy, and Jinjer.
Next Ice Age is a gothic rock/post-punk band from Konstanz, Germany, originating in the early ’90s initially as Ice Age, a project mainly focused on Joy Division covers.
Inspired by Joy Division, Sisters Of Mercy, and Fields of the Nephilim, their sound is characterized by energetic rhythms, dark and atmospheric soundscapes, and psychedelic-tinged lyrics and melodies.
Peek Boulevard is a post-punk/alternative band from Timișoara, Romania, founded in November 2024. The band brings together experienced musicians from the local scene, blending dark, atmospheric sounds with energetic rhythms and introspective lyrics.
Their sound is inspired by genres like post-punk and alternative rock, influenced by major artists like Joy Division, Sonic Youth, and Bauhaus. Their music combines melancholic tones, deep bass lines, and expressive vocals to create a captivating sonic experience.
Residents of Periam and Pesac have free entry to the festival, as do children under 16 accompanied by an adult and people with disabilities.
Also, camping remains free for all festival attendees this year.
The event is funded by the Timiș County Council through the TimCultura 2025 program and the Periam City Hall, organized by the Rock la Mureș Association.
