The Icelandic band SÓLSTAFIR returns to Romania for a special concert on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Quantic Club, Bucharest. The event marks the live debut of their latest album, Hin helga kvöl, released in November 2024.
Known for their unique fusion of Nordic melancholy, raw rock energy, and cinematic soundscapes, SÓLSTAFIR has become a staple name on the international scene. With roots in black metal, classic rock, post-rock, and punk, the band has been active since 1995 and continues to evolve artistically with every release.
Their newest album, Hin helga kvöl (translated as The Holy Night), blends Viking shoegaze and post-metal with delicate touches of jazz and soul. It’s arguably their most cinematic work to date—a fluid composition that swings between introspective moments and powerful surges of raw emotion.
Tracks like “Vor ás” surprise with unexpected catchiness while maintaining emotional depth, and the closing piece “Kuml” wraps the album in a suspended, Blade Runner-esque atmosphere. This is an ambitious, vulnerable, and mature release—proof that SÓLSTAFIR remains a band in constant transformation.
