This summer, the underground punk scenes in Sibiu and Cluj-Napoca are about to get louder. Bucharest-based bands Martalogii and Brainwasher are heading out of the capital for two explosive gigs that mark their first appearances in both cities. With local support acts in place, both nights promise high-energy performances and raw, uncompromising sound.

About the bands

Martalogii, originally from Vaslui and now based in Bucharest, are known for their gritty punk rooted in small-town frustration and social critique. Their debut EP “Băutură și Scandal” (2023) is a chaotic ode to everyday absurdities, while their follow-up “Toți ciudații” (2024) continues to tackle social and economic themes through sharp lyrics and aggressive sound. Tracks like “Fură din Mega Image” and “Cine te-a întrebat?” stick to their loud, direct style—music that’s more about energy than polish.

Brainwasher is a dance-punk/post-hardcore band formed in Bucharest in 2024. Their debut EP, released in April 2025 via Foreign Humor Productions, combines distorted basslines and jagged guitars with high-speed, danceable beats. Drawing from influences like Gang of Four, Death From Above 1979, and Snooper, Brainwasher’s sound is designed to make you mosh or move—either way, you won’t be standing still.

SIBIU — Friday, June 27, 2025 | Rock ‘n Bike Club

For the first time ever, Martalogii and Brainwasher will play Sibiu at Rock ‘n Bike (Str. Ștefan cel Mare 120).

The opening act is Kapak, a young d-beat/crust-punk band from Sibiu. Their 2025 demo “Zile întâmplătoare” blends lo-fi punk aggression with politically charged lyrics. Their message is clearly antifascist, anti-homophobic, and antiracist—a direct response to the rising far-right tendencies in their local community.

CLUJ-NAPOCA — Saturday, June 28, 2025 | Flying Circus Club

The second stop of this mini-tour takes place at Flying Circus in Cluj-Napoca (Piața Unirii 21), with local grindcore/powerviolence band BENT opening the night.

BENT (Barren Era, No Tomorrow) has been active online since 2023, with one EP and two full-length albums under their belt. Their latest record “Misery Ascent” (April 2025) continues their chaotic, relentless sound—built around blast beats, dissonant riffs, and shouted vocals. Holding true to their slogan “Noise for the sick and tired”, the band aims to push the boundaries of their genre with every track.

Two cities, three bands, one underground energy. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, these shows are a rare chance to see some of the most vital punk bands in Romania right now.
