Bucharest-born and Peru-reborn indie rock band Guilty is making a highly anticipated return to their hometown for a special, one-night-only performance. On July 2, fans are invited to Echoes, to experience the band’s distinctive blend of emotional anthems and electrifying energy live on stage. Guilty was founded in 2019 in Bucharest by Ruben Villanueva. Deeply influenced by post-punk revival legends such as The Editors, Interpol, and U2, the band stands out through a powerful mix of post-punk, indie rock, and reflective, poetic lyrics. Together with original members Renan, Silviu, and Cristi, Guilty released two significant EPs — A Long Way to Nowhere and Ephemeral Echoes — which helped define their early sound.

In 2020, Guilty won the Rock Monsters Award for Best Underground Rock Band in Romania. They then embarked on a successful national tour, building a loyal and growing fanbase.

After a period of change, Ruben returned in 2023 to Lima, Peru, where he revived Guilty with new members: Ramiro Payano on bass, Esteban Araujo on lead guitar, and Moss Sanchez on drums. This new lineup marked an evolution in the band’s sound, bringing more depth, maturity, and a fresh creative perspective.

Despite their international journey, the connection to Bucharest remains strong. The upcoming concert at Echoes will be Guilty’s only show in the city, offering fans a rare chance to reconnect with the band’s roots and experience their renewed energy live.
