On Sunday, August 10, 2025, two of Romania’s most dynamic underground bands Getchoo (Bucharest) and Mock Surprise (Cluj-Napoca) will share the stage at Expirat Halele Carol, one of Bucharest’s most iconic venues for alternative and live music.

The concert promises an evening of post-punk, alternative rock, and genre-defying energy.

Getchoo is a Bucharest-based rock band formed in 2023. Known for blending raw vulnerability with warm distortion and impulsive shifts in energy, the group draws on a wide range of influences including jazz, country, and hardcore. Their debut album, WILL (released October 2024), was warmly received in the local underground scene, with standout tracks such as “Boat/Tow Truck”, “Cadaver”, and the ballad “Today, Tomorrow”. The band consisting of Victor (vocals, guitar), Daniel (bass), Bucur (guitar, vocals), and David (drums) continues to evolve through a collaborative, DIY approach to songwriting and production.

Mock Surprise, a five-piece post-punk outfit from Cluj-Napoca, brings a high-energy, experimental sound that fuses post-hardcore rhythms with melodic pop vocals, jazz flourishes, and the edge of noise rock. Originally started in 2019 as a progressive rock project by Dávid Molnár (bass) and Attila-Botond Rázmán (drums), the band found its current identity with the addition of Tamás Tóth-Fábián (guitar, vocals), Rose Timea Bökös (vocals), and László Rigó (guitar). Their debut album, Portmanteau, released in spring 2025, captures the full scope of their evolving musical vision.
