Radio România Cultural has announced that Valeria Stoica will represent Romania at the 40th anniversary edition of Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS), taking place January 14–17, 2026 in Groningen, the Netherlands, under the theme Europe Calling.

Recognized as one of Europe’s most influential showcase festivals, ESNS is a launchpad for emerging artists and a hub where creators, industry professionals, and audiences meet. For the 2026 edition, the artist selection was carried out in close collaboration with European public broadcasters, members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), to highlight the continent’s cultural and musical diversity.

Valeria Stoica born in Nisporeni, Republic of Moldova, has gradually built a universe where folk, indie-pop, and acoustic influences meet with disarming sincerity. Her lyrics explore themes of fragility, longing, love, and self-discovery, resonating with audiences across borders.

Her debut album, “I Don’t Like Roses” (2020), introduced her intimate songwriting to a wider audience. In 2023, she became the first Romanian ambassador for Spotify’s global EQUAL program, and her 2025 album “Go Outside And Hug A Tree” deepened her exploration of personal and universal themes.

Valeria Stoica is represented by CORE Agency, a Bucharest-based boutique management company working with distinctive and high-potential artists. With her selection for ESNS 2026, she now steps onto one of the most important stages for European music a milestone both for her career and for Romania’s cultural presence internationally.
