Chris Simion – Mercurian, guest at the 8th edition of Cozerie • with Ruxandra

Starting in September, the Cozerie • with Ruxandra events return – a gathering space where we share stories differently. Each song can be a starting point for memories and moments that have shaped or defined us. Nothing formal, nothing complicated. A dialogue about life, about music, and about all the things that connect them.

In each edition, the guest chooses a few important songs and tells us the stories behind them. One hour of musical confessions, followed by a social session and a playlist curated by the guest.

Chris Simion – Mercurian is a visionary artist defined by the avant-garde scene, a theater director, writer, and founder of the Undercloud Independent Theater Festival – now at its 18th edition this year. The festival takes place between September 18 and October 5, 2025, over 18 days, across 18 venues on Calea Griviței. Undercloud 2025 celebrates 18 years and becomes the stage for all the creative ideas of bold independent artists. The program can be found at www.undercloudfest.ro.

Chris is also the initiator of the Grivița 53 project – the first theater built from scratch by the community. She sold her grandmother’s house to begin this unique story, which will revitalize the historic Grivița neighborhood, an example for younger generations, a cultural legacy showing that change starts with people.

Ruxandra Păduraru will guide us through this sound universe, asking the right questions and bringing to light the raw emotion behind each chorus. Ruxandra Păduraru is an anthropologist, university assistant, and host of Cozerii. She observes, asks, listens – exploring the stories that define us. She believes in the power of music to connect us and in the charm of dialogue.

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Open doors; drinks & food
8:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Dialogue launch (duration: one hour + Q&A)
9:00 PM – until last guest: Chris Simion – Mercurian’s playlist, raffle draw, socializing

The event takes place on the terrace of J’ai Bistrot, in the sand area, and will be heard through headphones. All participants will receive a set of headphones at the event entrance, which will be returned at the end.
