The Timisoara-based band MONOKROM returns with “Fereastra ta,” the first single from their upcoming album. The track will be released on September 30, 2025, at Control Club in Bucharest, as part of Brutus Night.

As their audience has come to expect, the band delivers emotionally impactful lyrics. This time, however, the focus is not on the intensity of a feeling, but on the absence of emotions that were once strong and are now hidden behind resignation. The “window” motif, with or without a presence on the sill, becomes a symbol of hidden intimacy, of personal experiences lived behind walls, known only to those involved. In this context, a universe once full of warmth now reveals itself as empty and cold.

“Fereastra ta” paves the way for an album with an urban aesthetic, inspired by the backdrop in which we live our daily lives—a city where we pass by one another, story by story. It will be a mature, emotional record, with a dense and powerful sound, marking a new beginning for MONOKROM.

The release at Control Club promises to be more than just a concert—it will be an invitation to look through one’s own inner window, where personal stories collide with the silence of the city.

The band marks the launch of the new single with a collaboration with Timisoara-based illustrator Andreea Dumuța, who created the artwork for the track. This is not the first time they have worked together: she also designed the covers for MONOKROM’s two albums, becoming a constant presence in the band’s visual universe. Her eclectic style—where dark and mysterious motifs intertwine with bright and playful colors—complements the band’s music with a distinct and memorable aesthetic.

Andreea is an internationally acclaimed artist, with projects for publishers such as Macmillan and Penguin Random House, as well as collaborations with Becky G and Coachella. Recently, one of the books she designed became a New York Times bestseller. Thus, MONOKROM’s new release also gains a powerful visual dimension, signed by an artist who has become a long-term partner.

With a style defined by lyrical sincerity, punk rock influences, and undeniable energy, MONOKROM has solidified its place in Romania’s alt-punk scene with the albums Sirene de ambulanță (2020) and MANTRE (2023).

In 2024, the band was named Best Rock Band at the Timișoara Music Awards, while their hit “Vara fără sfârșit” dominated the summer of 2023, holding the No. 1 spot in the Top Show chart for several weeks.
