Alpha Q Releases New Single and Music Video “Kavi”: An Emotional Alternative Metal Ballad

Alpha Q, the Romanian alternative melodic metal band, has released their new single “Kavi”, accompanied by a powerful music video directed by the talented Alina Statie.

The title “Kavi” (कवि), from Sanskrit, means “wise poet” or “sage,” reflecting the song’s depth and creative vision. It speaks to those who have fought to rediscover themselves through survival and hope.

Born from deeply personal experiences, “Kavi” is an emotional exploration inspired by real struggles with toxic relationships and addiction. The cathartic melodies and instrumentation create a heavy yet hopeful atmosphere, resonating with listeners who seek connection and encouragement in their battle with inner demons.

The track was recorded at Mellowdy Studios Cisnădie, co-produced, mixed, and mastered by Radu Marian Popa, also known as Cretzu. The video was filmed in picturesque locations across Transylvania, including Cisnădioara Fortress, the lakes and surroundings of Raiul Cailor, and the beautiful stage of the Cisnădie House of Culture.

About Alpha Q

Formed in Sibiu in 2016, Alpha Q — featuring vocalist MeeRah, Mădălin Muntean (drums), Daniel Fracea (guitar), Bogdan Stoican (lead guitar), and Stefi Popa (bass) — is known for its “dark melodies over heavy riffs.” After their debut EP ALPHA Q (2018) and the album Parallel Universe (2022), the band performed at major festivals such as ASTRA ROCK and ARTmania, sharing the stage with iconic acts like Korn, Spiritbox, and Satyricon.
