Kumm returns to the stage with a new lineup: “with more energy than ever”

After a period of silence, the band Kumm makes a powerful comeback, bringing fresh energy and a renewed lineup.

Founded in 1997 in Cluj, Kumm is considered a cornerstone of Romania’s alternative music scene. Over the years, the band has experimented with diverse styles and gone through several lineups, releasing six albums and performing numerous concerts both in Romania and across Europe. Songs such as “Să nu spui nimănui”, “1000 de chipuri”, and “Morsa” have become landmarks for multiple generations of listeners.

After more than a decade since their last album and a long hiatus, the band has announced its new lineup. Through a video clip posted on social media, shot in unmistakable Wes Anderson style, full of humour and visual detail, Kumm introduced its new members: Ionuț Deliu (bass), Mihnea Ferezan (guitar), and Casian Vlad (drums). They join Cătălin Mocan, András Kovács, and Mihai Iordache, completing the band’s new formation.

“With respect for the past, with intention for the future. The stones will be rolled,” declared Mihnea Ferezan.

Kumm is currently hard at work preparing their setlist for the 2026 concerts and writing new material, promising a spectacular comeback.

“We missed you, we missed ourselves among you; that feeling of diving into the sparkling energy we share when we ‘click’ the pedal that strips away worries, complexes, and restraints. And we’re left holding on. Holding hands and holding tight, ‘cause it’s about to start! Like divers pulling darkness out of the cola and from around us, from the rest of the day. 🙂 So, ‘Butterflies are Coming’, and that’s not all — we’ll challenge you with butterflies, buzzers, lions, deer, and guitars! And claw marks that stay and matter! Unheard of! Unspeakable! Only to be lived! See you in the pit! (Meaning: see you at the gig, okay?)” declared Cătălin Mocan.
