The album that marked the band’s history
Released shortly after winning second place in the international final of the Wacken Metal Battle, Dirtylicious represented a historic turning point for Dirty Shirt. The album elevated the band to an unprecedented level for the Romanian rock scene, attracted international attention, and received enthusiastic reviews from music critics around the world.
Roots, tradition, and innovation
Dirtylicious laid the foundation for the band’s current artistic direction, blending modern metal elements with authentic traditional influences. It also remains the most deeply folk-rooted album in Dirty Shirt’s discography, created through collaborations with numerous folk musicians, including members of the Transilvania Folkloric Ensemble. This collaboration paved the way for the FolkCore DeTour project, which later became a benchmark of the European rock fusion scene.
Official statement
“Dirtylicious is the album that changed our destiny. It was and remains an essential part of Dirty Shirt’s identity. We are incredibly happy to celebrate this moment at home, alongside our fans in Romania, where it all began,” says Mihai Tivadar, leader of Dirty Shirt.
