American artist Stella Rose (daughter of Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan), a rising goth-glam star, returns to Bucharest with new music and will perform alongside her band this Saturday, January 31, at Control Club.

Opening the night is Bucharest-based lo-fi/darkwave duo Tobă Moarte.
Last tickets are available via the Eventbook network.

Stella Rose recently released the EP Hollybaby (via KRO Records), an intense and introspective dark pop record, accompanied by the self-directed video for Beautiful Twentysomethings.

Following her debut album Eyes of Glass (2023), the new EP Hollybaby, created in collaboration with producer Yves Rothman, explores dark themes, youth, chaos, and addiction through a raw and visceral sound. Written during an extreme heatwave in Los Angeles, the EP was influenced by Stella Rose’s move from New York and her shift toward a more direct and emotionally charged songwriting style. The oppressive atmosphere played a key role in shaping its intensity, while the final touches were completed back in New York, resulting in what is arguably her most powerful, unfiltered, and hypnotic release to date.

Stella Rose Gahan is now firmly rooted in the vibrant circles of New York’s underground scene (as noted by Rolling Stone), while also building a growing presence in the fashion world, appearing on the covers of prestigious magazines such as POP, W Magazine, and Lampoon. Her artistic work has been praised by major outlets including Rolling Stone UK, Brooklyn Vegan, Paper, Clash, CREEM, and NME. Her affinity for like-minded creators has led to notable collaborations, including appearances in Diaries by Hedi Slimane, in Buffalo Hotel Chelsea Issue 16 photographed by Richard Kern, and participation in the Enfants Riches Déprimés show during Paris Fashion Week.

“The singer (and daughter of Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan) has a musical style that embraces New York City’s rock and roll history.” — W Magazine
“The New York singer has been carving out her own sonic identity, rooted in dramatic pop and a powerfully arresting vocal at all turns.” — DIY Magazine

Tobă Moarte is an eclectic duo exploring lo-fi, noise rock, and darkwave, founded in 2022 in an art studio in Bucharest by Miruna Radovici and Vlad Stoica. Part of a scene eager for genre-blending projects while building strong individual identities, Tobă Moarte stands out as more than just a refreshing and promising act, leaving a lasting impression through both sound and stage presence.
