Monkey3 will take the stage at Quantic on February 8, 2026, as part of the European “Welcome to the Machine” Tour 2026, which spans several cities across Central and Eastern Europe.
Formed in 2001 in Lausanne, Switzerland, Monkey3 has gradually established itself as a reference point of the European heavy psychedelic scene, building its identity around a solid instrumental formula situated at the crossroads of stoner rock, progressive, and space rock. Their music unfolds in expansive structures, with gradual build ups and controlled explosions, where song dynamics and the dialogue between instruments play a central role.
Emerging from a culture of improvisation and sonic exploration, the band has steadily evolved toward a cinematic and expansive sound, in which heavy riffs, hypnotic passages, and spatial textures create true wordless musical narratives. Without vocals, Monkey3 relies entirely on the power of atmosphere and the tension between construction and release, offering an experience felt more physically and emotionally than intellectually.
In Bucharest, Monkey3 will appear in their current lineup: Boris on guitar, Walter on drums, dB on keys and soundscapes, and Jalil on bass, presenting a set that reflects both the artistic maturity of a band with over two decades of activity and the current direction shaped by their most recent album, Welcome to the Machine released in 2024.
Throughout their career, Monkey3 has released a substantial and well regarded discography, praised by both audiences and the specialized press, including titles such as 39 Laps, Beyond the Black Sky, The 5th Sun, Astra Symmetry, Sphere, and Welcome to the Machine, albums that confirm the band’s coherence and constant evolution.
Renowned for their hypnotic live shows, where the music is enhanced by psychedelic visuals and a dense, almost ritualistic energy, Monkey3 has performed on major stages of the genre, appearing at landmark festivals such as Hellfest, Desertfest, and Roadburn.
The concert at Quantic is both a reunion with a name already well established among fans of the European instrumental scene and an excellent opportunity for newcomers who want to experience an intense, atmospheric, and profound form of rock, built beyond the genre’s classic conventions.
Opening acts: Jahmolxes and Bluebell Creeper
Bluebell Creeper, a band formed in 2023, brings together members from well known Romanian underground acts Church of Cthulhu, Tragic, Visions of Madness, and Vandaal. Their sound blends alternative, grunge, post punk, and noise rock into an intense and direct formula. The band released their debut album Mind the Gap in 2025, followed by the single Villains, both available on streaming platforms.
Jahmolxes is an instrumental band from Bucharest, positioned at the border between progressive and psychedelic, with influences from post rock and heavy psych. The four members present themselves as minstrels in the service of Jahmolxes, an imaginary sonic demi god, and their dense, hypnotic music builds expansive soundscapes meant to prepare the audience for the psychedelic journey offered by Monkey3.
