On Saturday, February 14, after 7:00 PM, Control Club will host a special concert bringing together two prominent names from the international alternative scene: Mint Field (Mexico) and Avishag Rodrigues (USA). The evening is dedicated to shoegaze, psych, experimental, and dark electronic sounds, promising an intense and immersive sonic experience.

Avishag Rodrigues

Opening the night, the audience will discover Avishag Rodrigues, a New York-based artist and multi-instrumentalist, also known as a member of the female punk collective cumgirl8 (signed to 4AD). Her music blends elements of rock, lo-fi, dark electronic, noise, and experimental, creating intimate and cinematic soundscapes.

With one full-length album, Islands, several EPs, and a live performance style that merges electronic beats with expressive guitars and minimalist vocals, Rodrigues delivers an immersive show that travels through “cities, seasons, and smoke-filled rooms.” Her latest single, “Some Are,” was released in December 2024, accompanied by a video directed by Adeline Thery.

Mint Field

Founded in Tijuana in 2015 and led by Estrella del Sol, Mint Field is recognized for its distinctive blend of avant-psych and shoegaze, characterized by complex rhythms, powerful guitars, and lyrics exploring nostalgia and the melancholy of everyday life.

The band has released four studio albums, one live album, and two EPs, and has appeared at major international festivals such as Coachella, SXSW, Pitchfork Music Festival Paris, and Desert Daze. Over the years, Mint Field has shared the stage with artists including Wilco, Slowdive, Franz Ferdinand, and Courtney Barnett, and has been featured by outlets such as NPR, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and KEXP.
