The British duo Elf Traps, one of the most exciting new projects in the jazztronica scene (a fusion of jazz and experimental electronic music), arrives in Bucharest for a special concert at Control Club on Saturday, February 21, after 9 PM.
Tickets are available through the Eventbook network.

Born in Manchester’s underground scene, Elf Traps brings together Rob Turner (ex-GoGo Penguin, Mercury Prize nominee) and Romanian-born musician Liviu Gheorghe (ex-Matthew Halsall / Gondwana Records). Together, they build a sonic universe where acoustic drums, synthesizers, samples, and robotic percussion interact in real time, creating an intense dialogue between live energy and technology.
On stage, their music is fully shaped by improvisation, blending beat-driven electronica, spiritual jazz, and psychedelic textures. Their compositions evolve organically from meditative ambient passages to electrifying rhythmic explosions. Every concert is different — a living space where sound constantly transforms from one moment to the next.
Following their debut EP, Sunflowers in a Blue Sky, released in November 2025, Elf Traps were named “BBC Introducing One to Watch 2026.” Their second EP, Blop, released this month, explores hypnotic territories, confirming the duo’s artistic growth and expanding sonic palette.
The Elf Traps sound moves across spiritual jazz, glitchy electronics, jungle, and ambient, with influences ranging from the rhythmic complexity of Squarepusher and the electronic explorations of Four Tet to the spiritual openness of Pharoah Sanders. The result is an unpredictable, vibrant, and deeply contemporary soundscape.
The concert at Control Club is part of Elf Traps’ European tour and marks one of the rare opportunities to experience live this boundary-pushing blend of jazz, club culture, and experimental electronics.
The Bucharest show is organized by Control Club with the support of OneDay. After the concert, the night continues in the live electronica / experimental zone with Problems (USA), Bălă (RO), and other local DJs.
Tickets are priced at 50 RON (general access) and are available online at control-club.ro, through the Eventbook network, and at the door on the night of the event.
