Orkid and PLANT, are joining forces for a powerful live event marking the launch of the first volume (double vinyl) of the compilation series Stray Lights + Bazar de Muzică.

More than just a concert, this event is set to be a full audiovisual experience and a bold statement for contemporary alternative music.

Orkid, the Bucharest based trio of edgy shoegazers, describe their sound as “post-traumatic blues.” Their music blends a wide range of influences from punk and garage to post-metal, indie, blues, math rock, prog, and even academic music resulting in a rich and layered sonic identity. To date, they have released five studio albums: Standing Still in the Dark (2016), Suruaika (2018), Deraiat (2020), In the Light We are Safe (2022), and Noi contra Noi (2023), along with singles such as Daily Extinction and Urlă ca marea (2025).

Orkid’s artistic vision extends beyond music. With Vlad (screenwriter and film director) and Radu (animator and graphic artist) shaping the project, the band incorporates strong cinematic elements, including animation, illustration, and design. Their live shows are further enhanced by urban artist Pisica Pătrată (Alexandru Ciubotariu), who performs live drawing, turning each concert into a multidisciplinary spectacle.

PLANT kicks off 2026 with the release of their new album, Evenimentul Major. The Bucharest trio continues to evolve their self-described “modest rock” experiment. Their debut album, Electrocasnic (2023), stood out in the underground scene for its raw energy and catchy choruses, followed by the punk cassette BAU! (2024), a fuzz-driven release packed with attitude.

Now, their second album delivers a fresh batch of noisy, expressive tracks that explore the same emotional-ironic lyrical spectrum. It unfolds like an apocalyptic epic about vices, untapped potential, and black tea. As the band puts it: “We all sit and patiently wait for the Major Event!”

This launch also comes with a story that highlights the dedication behind the project: in order for the vinyl records to be physically available on March 31, Constantin Vasile of Bazar de Muzică personally drove to Austria on March 27 to pick them up ensuring they arrive on time. A rare effort that speaks volumes about the passion fueling this release.

In short: the vinyl will be there. You have no excuse to miss it.
