Poet, producer and one of the most intriguing new voices of the UK scene, Antony Szmierek arrives in Bucharest for the very first time for a special live show on Wednesday, April 8, at Control Club. Opening the evening is emerging Romanian artist Diana Căldăraru.

Tickets are available via Eventbook.

Often compared to artists such as The Streets or Jarvis Cocker, yet maintaining a deeply personal style, Antony Szmierek has stood out for his ability to turn everyday observations into vivid, poetic moments delivered over energetic electronic backdrops.

The Manchester-based artist comes to Romania following a sold-out UK tour and the release of his debut album, Service Station At The End Of The Universe, praised by critics and hailed as one of the most original recent projects in the spoken word, electronic and indie dance space. His rapid rise has been supported by consistent airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, where he was named “Artist of the Year”. In recent years, Szmierek has performed at major international festivals including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, SXSW and Eurosonic.

The evening will open with a performance by Diana Căldăraru, a Romanian artist and songwriter who began her musical journey at the age of three. Her style fuses classic soul and R&B influences with a contemporary, personal approach, enriched by lush harmonies built around the piano.

After spending four years in the Netherlands developing her artistic identity, Diana returned to Romania and is currently working on her debut EP. Her repertoire includes both reimagined soul and R&B classics and original compositions exploring themes such as love, vulnerability, intimacy and self-discovery. With expressive lyrics and an authentic sensitivity, she offers a compelling and deeply personal sound world.

The concert on Wednesday, April 8, at Control Club promises an intense and immersive live experience where spoken word, British humour, pop emotion and dance-floor energy come together in a unique performance.

The Antony Szmierek (UK) + Diana Căldăraru (RO) event in Bucharest is organized by Control Club with the support of OneDay.

Tickets, priced at 75 lei (presale) and 95 lei (general sale), are available online at control-club.ro, via Eventbook, and at the door on the night of the event.
