The American band A Place To Bury Strangers returns to Bucharest for an intense and immersive concert on Wednesday, April 15, after 7:00 PM, at Control Club. Considered by some to be among the most innovative artists on the contemporary noise rock scene, APTBS promise a show built on sonic experimentation and unpredictable live energy. Opening act: the Canadian dark-pop project Kontravoid.

Tickets are available through the Eventbook network.

With nearly two decades of activity, the band led by Oliver Ackermann has built a solid reputation through a distinctive style at the intersection of post-punk, noise rock, and shoegaze. Their releases consistently explore the tension between control and chaos, melody and distortion—a direction also highlighted in recent releases such as Rare and Deadly, a collection of raw recordings and sonic experiments from Ackermann’s personal archive, documenting the band’s creative process in its most unfiltered form.

Known for their intense performances, A Place To Bury Strangers transform each live appearance into a total experience, where sound, lights, and direct interaction with the audience create an immersive show on the edge between concert and performance.

The evening will be completed by Kontravoid, the project of Canadian artist Cameron Findlay, based in Los Angeles. Active for over a decade, Kontravoid blends EBM, electro, and goth influences into a distinctive dark pop sound, characterized by hard beats, hypnotic basslines, and a melancholic atmosphere. His strong stage presence and mysterious aesthetic have made him a key name on the electro-goth scene.

The Bucharest concert is part of the APTBS & Kontravoid European tour and promises an evening dedicated to the most intense and experimental forms of contemporary alternative music.

The A Place To Bury Strangers (US) + Kontravoid (CA) concert in Bucharest is organized by Control Club with the support of OneDay.

Tickets, priced at 85 RON (general admission), are available online at control-club.ro, through the Eventbook network, and at the door on the night of the event.

Evening schedule: 7:00 PM – doors open / 8:00 PM – Kontravoid / 9:00 PM – APTBS
