The alternative rock band Alex & The Fat Penguins presents today an online mini concert made during the isolation period, more precisely in May, thus connecting France, where Alex lives, with Bucharest.

The concert was filmed on the occasion of the “Solidar Local” Festival, which was attended by over 40 artists, and the money from the tickets was directed to the Dăruiește Viață Association to strengthen the capacity of the Romanian medical system in the face of the pandemic.
The setlist includes 4 songs, three of which (Ursul, Pararam and Quantum Physics) are part of the Cardiosonic album, available here, and one is brand new, composed by Alex in isolation and which has not yet found its name.

“Until the reunion on stage, it was nice to work together again and set up this short concert. We liked the initiative of Solidar Local and we were glad that we also took part in this project that came to the aid of the front line doctors in the fight with Covid-19 “, said Alex Coțofan.

Alex & The Fat Penguins recently released a new single from Cardiosonic, Rai de Farisei (Heaven of the Pharisees), a song about searching for one’s own path, a search for the self, breaking a stereotype, a victory against fear, an acceptance of inner flaws and their metamorphosis in qualities, as described by Alex.

In the next period, the band will release a documentary consisting of 11 episodes, one dedicated to each song on Cardiosonic, which aims to invite the public behind the scenes of the album and the life of the band.

Alex & The Fat Penguins is an alternative rock band founded in 2016.
Their music speaks of the small and big revolutions that take place in the street or in our hearts. Alex’s inspiration has its source in a wide range of emotions and thoughts: it can be an intimate experience such as the loss of a loved one, a fragment of personal history such as the losses suffered by his family during the Soviet occupation, the positive prospect of spiritual rebirth or contemporary social problems that affect us all (injustice, corruption, war or the danger of destroying the environment). In 2017, during the protests for the laws of justice, Alex & The Fat Penguins sang live, in front of the Romanian Government building, the song Just A Fool, the anti-corruption song that enjoyed numerous appreciations from the public.
