We all love AC/DC, let’s be fair, but how are they going to remain in history? The answer is simple, they will remain in history because of their amazing songs and…with help from the tribute bands.
In case you didn’t know, the biggest AC/DC tribute band is from Romania. The ROCK is the name of the band formed in 2012 by Daniel Ignat.
Already known worldwide because of their collaborations with the AC/DC legends, Dave Evans and Mike Terrana, the band has won in 2017 “Best Tribute Band” award at Metalhead Awards.
Will they continue the AC/DC legacy? What are their future plans? We’ve talked to Daniel Ignat and tried to find out what they’re planning.
RM: Why have you chosen AC/DC and not another legendary band?
Daniel: AC/DC is ( in my opinion ) an institution, almost a religion worldwide. Is the greatest rock’n roll band of all times. There were not that many to choose from… As the first singer of AC/DC, Dave Evans use to say: P.E.D.C – POWER.ENERGY.DYNAMICS.CONVICTION. That’s why I chose AC/DC…
RM: What is your favorite song from AC/DC and why?
Daniel: It’s hard for me to pick one. All songs are great, but i can tell you about Back in Black, Thunderstruck, and Hells Bells… It’s something special there. Those are like… different to me.
RM: How many international concerts have you got and where?
Daniel: Some, not more. In almost 6 years we did a couple of hundreds in Romania, Moldavia, Bulgaria, Netherlands. Next year, as we already spoke to Dave Evans and Mike Terrana, we’ll be touring Europe and maybe Asia.
RM: How would be a dream concert for you?
Daniel: Ha ha! River Plate, Argentina. That’s all…
RM: What do you think is the best part of the Romanian rock community?
Daniel: Well, i think that these guys are smart, picky, and open minded.
RM: Have you got any message for the AC/DC fans that are going to read this article?
Daniel: Yeah! Wanna say hello on behalf of all of my bandmates, have a Rockin’ Christmas, take care of you and see y’all front of the stage, headbanging next time! Love and respect! Cheers!
I wish The ROCK a very successful tour in 2019 and I really hope that they’ll keep the AC/DC tradition alive.
