We all love highschool rock bands, right? Unfortunately, there are not enough contest to make them popular, so many of them just stay in the underground. 

Two weeks ago, we’ve discovered Out ‘n’ About after a talent show and we were impressed with their performance and their ambition. Few days after we’ve talked with them about an interview and we’ve got an interesting answer, which we did not expect: we had to wait two or three days to make a band meeting to answer our questions.

Who are Out ‘n’ About? A five members band from Bucharest, Romania, all teens: Silvia Radu – drums, Alina Stoichici – bass, Tatiana Stefan – vocalist, Luca Bostanescu – rhythm guitar, Ioan Necula – solo guitar.

Any more words from us are useless now I think, it’s time to listen to them!

Why have you made the band?

We decided to form the band as we were jamming in Silvia’s (the drummer) garage during the summer. We enjoyed every bit of it and we couldn’t help but keep it going. Ever since we’ve been inseparable and it’s been the best thing that has ever happened to us.

Where does the name come from?

The rythm guitarist and the drummer came up with the name when they went to the beach this summer and they were thinking of things that represent the band and what they want the people to feel when they listen to us. Freedom of movement, young spirits, open minds. The name sums it all up and paints the perfect picture for us. It just came natural.

Who are your idols?

We don’t corelate with a specific musician/band, but we get our inspiration from the 70’s and we try to bring a modern spark.

What is your goal?

It would be a dream come true to make people feel as euforic as we do when we perform on stage, at rehearsals and basically anywhere we get the chance to.

Who supported you all the way till now?

Our parents have always been there for us with both emotional and financial support even from before we met eachother. Also our firends have believed in us and have been there all along. Our gratitude cannot be expressed in words.

What advice would you give to the teens who want to start a band?

The best advice would be to find people that you can connect with right away and never conform to the standards. always seek for more and find your own sound as you are your only leader. Never forget to have fun while you’re doing your thing and so definitely people will notice you.

Do you have any message for the people who are going to read this article?

Music is a safe place and it’s the best way to connect with both yourself and the world. Never let anyone take this joy away from you. Hold on tight to what we have prepared for you, hope you’ll like it as much as we do.

Time will decide of they are going to be one of the biggest bands of Romania, but we think they won’t stay in the underground for long.
