UK bands are going to rule Summer Well, that’s for sure! Today, we are going to talk with an amazing band from an amazing city, Liverpool.

Red Rum Club are our guests today. The alternative-indie band, which reminds us of Arctic Monkeys and The Beatles, just released in January their new album “Matador”, which can easily be considered one of the best 2019 albums released by an UK band.

When we think about Liverpool, we think about The Beatles or Gerry and The Pacemakers, who are going to be forever in the history of Merseyside. Are we going to talk about Red Rum Club in the same way? Only time will decide…

In less than 3 weeks, they will play at Summer Well. What should we expect? Fran Doran, the singer of RRC, gave us some answers.

You’re a band from Liverpool, a city with amazing tradition in rock music. How does it feel to be part of this tradition?

It is a blessing. Before we play a note, people believe and also expect us to be good because the city has such a rich history. It’s a pressure we thrive on. We feel like we are representing our city every time we play live. We use it as a motivation to be at our best and not let our hometown down.

It’s your first show in Romania. What do you know about the country and about the Summer Well festival? What are your expectations for Summer Well?

We’ve heard great things about the festival. We spoke to our Mancunian mates, Blossoms, who played Summer Well in 2016. They said its an incredible festival and they told us to expect a big, lively crowd. They said that there was 0 fans 15 mins before they went on stage but when they walked out there were thousands. Hopefully it’s the same for us. We won’t be happy with them for getting our hopes up if it’s not! As for Romania, we’ve been told to expect good weather, good people and cheap beer.

What should Romania expect from your show?

Lots of noise. We are very loud, very energetic and have some bad dance moves.

What plans do you have for 2019?

More Music. We are well into writing our second album and plan on releasing a few singles after festival season.  

We are really busy at the moment. Festivals every weekend until the end of summer. After the drinking in the field has stopped we are straight back out on the road. Our UK Autumn Tour has just been announced and is on sale. European tour? Maybe

Do you have any message for your fans and people who are going to attend at your show?

We want everyone to know that we are really excited for our first ever show in Europe and first ever show in Romania. It’s going to be a very special show for us – also learn the words and bring your dancing shoes!
