It is always a pleasure to find a new band and it is even better when you find out that it is from your country, right?
Today we will talk about My Only Venus, an underground metal band from Bucharest (Romania). Founded in 2018, the band has already released their first album called “Kings of Lies” this July, an album that can be found on YouTube and Spotify.

Also, in just a few days, My Only Venus is going to be in the line-up for their first ever festival, Rock Metal Nation Fest. Who are they? What is their ideology? We’ve tried to find out all this from them.

Why did you create the band?
The band was created from passion for music, and at this ‘job’, each task has its ups and downs, but we, going through thick and thin, kept going further. And honestly, how can you not wish to be a rock star?
Where does the name come from?
Both the name and the inspiration come from a story a lot wider, than not even us managed to fully figure out. The name, I’d say, comes from a loneliness sally of Faust in which he would’ve fallen in love with a celestial body. From this premise we almost discovered a new cult of the stars. When we die we become stars so we can light the path for the mortals.
Who are your idols in music?
Our music is visibly influenced by bands such as Marylin Mason, Ghost, System of a Down etc. But through our idols you can count names from Alice Cooper to Nirvana, up to Metallica, Rammstein and deathcore (almost any).
What is your goal for the next 5 years?
It’s hard to say what’s yet to come in the upcoming years, we wish to grow more as a band… To have as many albums and to spread more stardust in the hearts of the listeners.
Few months ago, you’ve released your first album. What inspired the songs?
The songs on the album “King of Lies” have origins that vary from artistic currents: Pre-Romanticism (“Sturm und Drang”) up to Tarot (“The Fool”), as well as stories of failed romances, life struggles etc. A big help was reinterpreting the songs of our former band, Still Waters.
Which one of the songs you have released do you think is the best and why?
The best song on the album is, undoubtedly, “King of Lies”, which makes itself different from the rest through a much complex instrumental and a theme that is more ‘from the heart’.
What plans do you have for the end of 2019 and 2020?
We don’t want to give away too much, but we hope that we can release a new album that will tell the complete story of the stars, implicitly the one of Venus. Aside from this, we expect as many people as possible at “Rock/Metal Nation Fest” and at “Without Walls Fest”.
Do you have any messages for your fans and people who are going to read this article?
Open your eyes, keep going further and let the stars guide your way.
One hope, my only hope,
One star, my only star,
My Only Venus.
