It was a great year for Romanian rockers and metalheads as many amazing albums were released. We had to choose 10 for our awards and, after one week of debating and voting, here are our results!

10. byron – Nouă

byron’s album begins our top with a really good alternative rock album, which could easily be in Top 5 last years, but seems like not this year.

3 years after their first album was released and 2 years after getting second place at Wacken Metal Battle, the folk-metal band E-An-Na released “Nesfârşite”, an album with many amazing collaborations. For example, the gurdy part from “În frânt” was recorded by Michalina Malisz (Eluveitie)

The band from Braşov is back in tops after 5 years with their new album, which reminds us of other amazing songs realeased by the band in the 20th and 21st Century.
7. VUNK – Domnul Portocaliu şi Maşina Timpului

They have finished the decade the same way they started it, with a hit. “Deja Vu” is probably the best song from the album, but there are also some great songs in there!
6. Omul cu Şobolani – Fabrica de Păpuşi

The album is the first OCS album from this decade (and also the last one) and it is, indeed, a banger.

What an album this is! “Renăscând” shows the amazing potential of An Theos.. and we can say that this band can be as huge as Eluveitie or Korpiklaani.
4. Trooper – Strigăt: Best of 2002-2019

We know this is just a compilation, but how can we miss this release? This compilation shows exactly why Trooper is one of the best Romanian bands!
3. Viţa de Vie – În corzi (Live at Awake Festival)

A live album by the legendary band Viţa de Vie was a surprise for many people, but if course everybody knew that this album is a great one, especially those who were at Awake Festival this year.
2. Alternosfera – Arhitectul Din Babel

Probably the best album of Alternosfera yet, “Arhitectul Din Babel” makes its way into the second place of our ranking with the same good songs we are used to from the band!
1. Robin and the Backstabbers – Bacovia Overdrive vol. III: Vladivostok

The most influential alternative band of this decade in this century has released the final album of the trilogy “Bacovia Overdrive”. With amazing lyrics and chill music, “Vladivostok” is probably one of the albums that, if it was in English, was in Top 100 albums of the year 2019, but it is in Romanian and it wins “Best Romanian Album” from Rock Monsters!
