“Bacovia Overdrive vol. III: Vladivostok” is the Rock Monsters Album of the Year and here it is a short review on the band, the album and the release show to find out why their album is on the 1st place!

Robin and the Backstabbers is a band that grows on you , it becomes a part of your life without you even realizing it, you might find yourself contemplating at the lyrics long after you heard the song and relating to something you have never gone through. Their music makes you nostalgic for a time during which you have never lived. I often find myself losing track of time just sitting and listening to their music , even if there is something I need to do.

Before going to the launch concert I had a really tough choice to make, should I or shouldn’t I listen to their songs, I wanted to know the lyrics so I can sing along , but I also wanted to be able to hear the songs for the first time directly from them …. so I waited , all my friends listened to the new album , and the kept on telling me how great it was , and so it was, but listening to them singing it doesn’t even compare to the recorded version, and for sure they are both amazing with great lyrics and fascinating music but the fact that the first time hearing them was live just made them all more special to me and the whole experience was just unbelievable.

One of the things that stuck with me for the next two weeks after the concert was the big whiteboards they had , they were divided in four and on each side there was a question, “What do you wanna be when you grow up?”, “Who are you here with?” and many more and when you entered the concert hall the gave you a marker , a permanent marker and the told you you could write on the boards. As you might have guessed I wrote my answer to each and every question and I kept the marker, I still keep it in my backpack, I have been carrying it around ever since. It was amazing just standing around and reading the answers, it felt like, somehow, I was connecting with every person who wrote something on these boards.

The show itself was breathtaking , and I’m not just talking about the music but also their background and the light effects and the attention that went into the show made it an unforgettable experience.
