The German modern metalcore band Myosotis launched on July 17th the music video of “What if…”. It is as beautiful as the forget-me-not, the flower behind the band’s name.

Myosotis have emerged with a refreshing, diverse and thoughtful songwriting, combining progressive metal with metalcore-elements and dark, almost goth-melodies to create a dialogue with their listeners. They have started the band with the main objective to help people overcome depression and anxiety and their background is filled with individual difficulties and the members understand the increasing fear of being isolated.

“What if…” talks about the dark side in each of us in which the mistakes that we have made lie down and what could have happened if a different path would have been chosen.

The music video itself is very expressive, not necessarily directly, but through its symbolism. It is very well made and it mirrors the lyrics in a wonderful way. It can switch so fast from being stirred, showing the struggle within, to being quiet and peaceful. This fact and the chorus are a direct way to show that “I am alive, after all this pain I faced.”, although “I can not hold it anymore.” Myosotis did an amazing job in being close to their listeners by the means of their music.
