The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today, we talk to One of the Last, an amazing Hybrid Metal band from NYC!

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

It knocked us right on our ass! The toughest part was that, we had a lot of things planned. We wanted to have 2 EPs out this year, more music videos, play numerous shows, etc. Now, we have a lot of demos that need to be recorded so some good has come out of this!

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

Just knowing you had the chance to go anywhere and do anything. That’s what kills us the most. We have no idea what the future holds for the world but things are definitely changing. It’ll be interesting with live shows!

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

We all got to work on promoting the band online by doing amazing interviews with publications like yours! We also built our Facebook page up to almost 10k likes in a few months but Facebook deleted our page for no reason after we got hacked. It’s a pain in the ass but we’ll start over soon and reach newer heights!

How does it feel to return to some normalcy?

It definitely feels like we’re getting caught doing something we’re not supposed to. Actually walking into a restaurant and eating without a mask is still very odd!

What plans have you got for the rest of 2020?

We’re still looking for a drummer and once we do, we’re going to write. We have a lot of ideas that need drums but we’re looking for the right drummer. It might take a while but when we find that 5th member, there’s no stopping us!

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

Just know that this is the time to go all in. A lot of us lost our primary/secondary jobs due to quarantine and makes us feel that we don’t have any job security. These companies can lay us off at any time. Instead of worrying about that, it’s time to give music a shot. We can’t take anything for granted anymore so for us, music is our top priority. We’re going to try and make a living off of music. We have the right tools to succeed and we will! You gotta have that positive mental attitude!

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

Just thank you for reading and if you want to see what we’re up to, visit our website: http://www.oneofthelastband.com!
