Non Talkers is an indie pop band from Portugal, their latest release being a single, “We’ll be fine”, on the 15th of May this year. Their members are: Marco Brantner (lead vocal, guitar), Evita Brantner (lead vocal), João Arieira (drums), Jorge Rasteiro (electric guitar), João Rangel (bass) and Filipe Alturas (keyboard and backing vocals). Known for their romantic songs, they released an EP “Pendulum of time” last year. The cover is quite impressive, showing a rusty ship, having incredibly well done details and shadows.

The first track, “Fire burning in my veins” is a romantic, yet optimistic record flooded with personal relevations. Beginning with Evita’s warm, yet strong voice it seta an intimate and personal atmosphere, we are also introduced after the first lines to Marco’s voice who is her husband, mirroring each other’s feelings. A beautiful buildup leads us to the catchy hook, carrying a tinge of the past heartbreak with optimism and good vibes.

“You don’t feel ashamed” is the second song of this project. Taking a completely different path both musically and lyrically, this song can be considered an open letter to all politicians in the world, focusing on injustice, deceit, betrayal and manipulation. The instrumental has a predominant feel-good element to it, but that electric guitar and the singers’ slightly angered voice go hand in hand with the message “You don’t feel ashamed”.

The last song, “Pendulum of time” is the most romantic track, diving into melancholy while keeping the mistery about the true meaning of it. While the music video shows the song explains the trials and errors, the ups and downs, the destiny and the intentional choices about love, the lyrics act like an introspective on the entirety of your life on earth. It is a song of musical brilliance and versatility, of timeless meaning and emotional after effects.
