The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to Snakes in the Casket, a “venomous” Rock ‘n’ Roll band from Stuttgart, Germany!

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

Obviously there’ve been a lot of changes, especially when it comes to exchanging new ideas in our rehearsal room or work on our live performance. Just like a lot of bands we are only able to have contact digital.

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

Seeing each other to rehearse and plan new stuff for the band. We are all great friends and have contact on a daily basis. We love to hang out and have a good time, so not being able to see each other personally really sucks right now.

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

The biggest advantage was having more time to try out different things while starting to record our next releases on our own. You have less pressure during the whole process. Our creativity increases when we can really take the time we need to figure out what serves the songs the most to sound like we want them to sound like.

How does it feel to hear the idea of returning to some normalcy?

Were really looking forward to it. The idea of a band like Snakes in the Casket was always playing live, celebrating and sharing rockn roll the way it should be, LOUD!

What plans have you got for 2021?

Definetly release a self produced single, which we are currently working on and start recording our debut album. We haven’t been around for long, we released our first EP called „First Bites“ last august and since then we are planning a lot of new stuff coming soon like a musicvideo, merch etc.

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

The last year has been hard on all of us, especially musicians/artists of any kind. We found out it really helps to try out new things in general and stay productive. Use the time while you are not able to be out on the road. Make the best of it by working on what developes your existence as an artist.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

We hope everyone is safe and healthy out there. Stay positive so we can leave these hard times behind us and hopefully meet each other as soon as possible. Cheers!
