The Strizzers are closing out 2024 with a new chapter in their alternative rock story, suggestively titled after their latest single, “I Am a Winner”!
The track premiered on Radio Seven on December 5, during Robert Tache’s show “S-a creat în România” and has been available on streaming platforms since that date. On December 12, the launch concert will take place at Echoes Haus in Bucharest. Joining The Strizzers as the opening act will be Claiming Apollo, known for their “larger-than-life” riffs and poetic lyrics. Tickets for the event are available through IaBilet.

“I Am a Winner” explores the inner struggle between the desire to discover one’s true self and the societal pressure to conform. It captures a yearning for freedom—a theme universally familiar—delivered with a bold and sassy alternative rock beat. The single celebrates authenticity, self-acceptance, and breaking through social barriers.
The Strizzers have developed their own sub-genre of alternative rock—urban rock—drawing energy and inspiration from the hustle and bustle of their home city, Bucharest. Between 2022 and 2023, they released several singles, performed gigs in Bucharest and across the country, earned mentions and features on multiple radio stations, and participated in interviews and articles. All these efforts culminated in the release of their debut album, Some Kind of Hero, in November 2023.
The year 2024 brought several challenges, including lineup changes involving two original members. Nevertheless, the band organized a Romanian-Bulgarian tour alongside the Bulgarian band People of Maha, which included six concerts—three in each country.
The Strizzers aim to connect with listeners through an authentic musical experience, inspiring them to see the world as the band does: as a dynamic puzzle we all contribute to.
Claiming Apollo have established a reputation in the underground music community with their larger-than-life riffs and poetic lyrics. Band members Lex (vocals and guitar), Mircea Moroianu (lead guitar), Iulian Ștefănescu (bass), Dorian Cazacu (drums), and Ștefan Rădulescu (sounds & tracks) bring an electric energy to every performance—whether in art galleries, clubs, or on the city streets.
Though relatively new to the Romanian music scene, Claiming Apollo boasts roots in bands with rich histories, such as The Mono Jacks, Oliver, The Speakers, and Arashai. Their most recent release, “Fight For The Reason”, is a protest anthem that radiates raw energy, especially in live performances. The band is currently working on their debut album, which is set for release in 2025.
