Cristina Lupu takes the stage at Control Club once again, with her debut album, Sweet Amnesia, recently celebrating its 1 year anniversary. She will be joined by a handful of talented guest musicians (Lucas Contreras, Cristi Florea, Dimitrie Cristian, Sergiu Bivol and Alex Purje) promising to render fresh new versions of the songs off the album, but also some unreleased material, cool new instruments and lots of improvisation.

Cristina Lupu is an independent singer-songwriter (guitar/vocals) based in Bucharest and angry love songs are her specialty.

Her debut album SWEET⋅AMNESIA was released at the end of 2024, though most of its songs had already been heavily ‘tested out’ in live performances, at festivals such as Electric Castle, Waha, Femei pe Matasari and many others. The release of Sweet Amnesia was marked with a full-house, full band live show in Bucharest, followed by a series of concerts in 8 other cities.

The project became known at first for Cristina’s intimate, heartfelt solo-performances and later evolved into a steady trio (vocals, guitars, bass, backing vocals) and sometimes a quartet, with beatboxing, flute and/or percussion added to the mix.

Cristina is currently in the studio working on her second studio album, due 2027, and marking an important step in Cristina’s journey – a bolder sound, more drums, more bass, more noise, more anger, more love.
