American hardcore legends M.D.C. return to Romania for a special charity concert in Bucharest on May 12, 2026, at Expirat Halele Carol. The show is part of their “Millions of Dehumanized Civilians” tour, aimed at raising funds to support civilians affected by the war in Ukraine.
Tickets for the Bucharest show are available online via iabilet.

Formed in 1979 in Austin, Texas, M.D.C. (Millions of Dead Cops) are widely recognized as pioneers of the early 1980s hardcore punk scene. Alongside influential acts like The Dicks and Big Boys, the band helped shape the Austin underground before relocating to San Francisco in 1982. There, they recorded and released their groundbreaking debut album, Millions of Dead Cops, through Alternative Tentacles, the label founded by Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys.
The album delivered sharp critiques of American society, addressing issues such as police brutality (“I Remember”), corporate exploitation (“Corporate Death Burger,” “I Hate Work”), and homophobia (“America’s So Straight”). It remains one of the most acclaimed releases of the first wave of hardcore punk.

M.D.C. continued to release albums and tour consistently throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, maintaining their aggressive sound and politically charged message. After disbanding in 1995, the band reformed in 2000, with original frontman Dave Dictor leading the lineup. In 2004, they released Magnus Dominus Corpus, followed by a global tour. Their most recent album, War Is A Racket (2023), continues their uncompromising stance and marks over four decades of relentless activity.
The Bucharest event will also showcase a strong supporting lineup from across the regional underground scene.
Hungary’s Barackca bring a fast, politically charged hardcore sound, known for their intense live performances and uncompromising DIY ethos. Local act Dead Ceaușescus injects a sharp dose of satire and raw punk energy, blending irreverent themes with classic hardcore aggression.
Also joining the bill, Brainwasher deliver a relentless mix of hardcore and crossover influences, while Insurrection round out the lineup with a sound rooted in old-school rebellion and high-intensity live shows. Together, these acts complete a diverse and explosive lineup that reflects the spirit of the international hardcore scene.
Bringing together legendary names and rising forces of the underground, this event promises not only an intense night of hardcore punk, but also a meaningful act of solidarity. With all proceeds supporting civilians affected by the war in Ukraine, the May 12 show at Expirat Halele Carol stands as both a powerful musical gathering and a reminder of the scene’s enduring commitment to social awareness and collective action.
