Following the release of The Worst Weather Since January in July 2025, Iași-based post-punk artist San Mitch initially decided to take a short break from songwriting, focusing instead on developing the live direction of the band. However, the creative pause did not last long.
“Very often I listen to music and get deeply inspired. I think this is a common feeling for musicians it wakes up your writing senses,” says San Mitch. “By mid-autumn, I just wanted to make songs again. No concepts, just music that comes out naturally.”
By February, all material was completed, leading to the release of the new project Flowers Found On A Hill Climb on April 27th.

The record opens with “Bits Of Death”, a politically charged track addressing human suffering and global indifference. While built on tight grooves and carefully crafted instrumentation, the song’s lyrical message remains central, reflecting on collective apathy in the face of ongoing crises.
The first single, “I Think I Got Lucky”, introduces a darker, narrative-driven world inspired by slasher aesthetics. The track follows a campsite stalked by an unseen force, ultimately disrupted by an unexpected heroic presence a loud cat. Blending gothic imagery with childlike storytelling, the song also carries a personal reference to the artist’s own pet.
Two standout tracks, “Limerence” and “Cracked Ice”, are expected to become key moments in the live set. “Limerence” builds a layered sonic landscape that will challenge its stage adaptation, while “Cracked Ice” delivers sharp guitar-driven energy designed for live performance intensity.
The release closes with “Touch Grass”, a socially conscious track reflecting on overwork, underpayment, and the loss of meaningful time in modern labor systems. The song questions the imbalance between survival and fulfillment in contemporary life.
Flowers Found On A Hill Climb is a concise post-punk statement that blends melodic guitar work, atmospheric textures, and socially aware lyricism further defining San Mitch’s evolving artistic direction within the Iași alternative music scene.
