On May 12, Greek experimental rock Citizen Jim will perform at Underworld as part of the European promotional tour for their latest album, LOOM.
Formed in Athens in 2016, Citizen Jim blend progressive and experimental rock with influences drawn from classic rock, hip hop, jazz, electronic music, and ambient textures. Their sound resists easy categorization, shifting stylistically from track to track while remaining anchored by the distinctive spoken-word and poetry-performance vocal approach of frontman and founder Polis Dimitris.

Lyrically, the band explores contemporary everyday realities and social dynamics from the Hellenic peninsula. Their new album, LOOM, marks an evolution in the group’s thematic direction, expanding beyond the dry humor and political satire that have defined the project since its inception to include science-fiction inspired narratives and imagery.
Fans can explore the new record on Citizen Jim Bandcamp and follow the band via Citizen Jim Instagram.
Opening the evening will be Bucharest-based free jazz collective Multumult.
More an evolving artistic collective than a conventional band, Multumult is the creation of multi-instrumentalist Călin Torsan, who remains the project’s sole permanent member. Reconfigured from performance to performance in pursuit of new sonic possibilities, the group will appear this time as a trio featuring Călin Torsan (wind instruments), Bogdan Frigioiu (electric bass), and Marius Gabriel Achim (percussion), delivering what promises to be a deeply unique live experience.

Music from Multumult is available on Multumult Bandcamp.
Doors open at 19:30, with the concert starting after 20:00. Tickets will be available exclusively at the entrance on the night of the show, cash only, priced at 40 RON.
See you on May 12 at Underworld for an evening of experimental sound, improvisation, and genre-defying performances.
