Monokrom announces the release of the album “Rosarium,” an anthology of emotions and personal experiences unfolding within the “concrete gardens” of big cities.

The Timișoara-based band Monokrom is preparing to release its third studio album, titled “Rosarium,” a record that marks a new stage of artistic maturity for the group.

“Rosarium” is conceived as an anthology of emotions and personal experiences unfolding in the “concrete gardens” of major cities. The album presents a collection of sonic tableaux symbolically placed on apartment block facades, where each song becomes an open window into the inner universe of the people inhabiting this stone garden. Unlike the band’s previous releases, “Rosarium” explores a much deeper and darker territory, where the lyrics and instrumentation create a cinematic atmosphere that carries the listener through various moods and urban stories beneath the dim glow of streetlights.

Founded in 2016 on the benches of a high school in Timișoara, Monokrom, also known as MNK, has shaped its artistic path through what the band members describe as “alt-punk for people.” Following the success of the debut album Sirene de ambulanță and the release MANTRE, the band consistently reaffirmed its position as a key name in Timișoara’s alternative rock scene through numerous performances and appearances at major festivals. Official recognition arrived in 2024, when the band won the award for Best Rock Band at the Timișoara Music Awards.

The new album further solidifies the band’s alt-punk identity, bringing mature lyrics and a refined sound to the forefront while preserving the authentic energy that has kept audiences close since the group’s earliest club shows in Timișoara.

Monokrom consists of:

Sebastian Ursache: guitar and vocals

Darius Zelenco: bass

Răzvan Muthi: drums
