miau.wav relives the nostalgia of an era when music inspired listeners to hope through their new single, “Fermecat.”

miau.wav has released Fermecat, the first Romanian-language single in the Bucharest duo’s discography. The song serves as a tribute to a time when music encouraged listeners to dream and hope, a musical era that should not be forgotten. The lyrics tell the story of a dreamer’s journey through life, someone who sees the world with optimism and romance. The orchestration wraps around this narrative, instantly transporting listeners back in time and inviting them to dream. The track is now available on all streaming platforms.
miau.wav is an indie dreampop duo from Bucharest formed by Teddy and Mircea, two artists who compose, produce, mix, master, and develop the project’s visual identity entirely independently from their home studio. Their sound blends electronic dance elements with the nostalgia of 1990s and 2000s music, alongside disco, funk, and R&B influences, creating a personal and recognizable musical universe.
With Fermecat, the duo opens a new creative chapter, choosing for the first time to write and sing in Romanian. The song preserves the dreamy and melancholic atmosphere characteristic of the project while bringing forward a warmer and more emotionally direct side, where optimism and vulnerability coexist naturally. Influenced by the aesthetic of retro music reinterpreted in a modern way, the single creates a cinematic and nostalgic mood typical of the miau.wav universe.
The new song will also be performed live in a full-band format at this year’s Electric Castle, where miau.wav will take the stage alongside instrumentalists Șerban Georgescu, Dru, and Michael Massier.
miau.wav continues to shape its artistic identity through a mix of DIY culture, nostalgia, and sonic exploration, transforming intimate and personal spaces into starting points for sincere and escapist music.
