Since 2018, London’s High Vis have been steadily shaping a distinctive space within contemporary hardcore, blending the genre’s raw urgency with influences drawn from post-punk, Brit pop, neo-psychedelia, and even the groove-oriented energy of Madchester, resulting in a sound that balances aggressive momentum with melodic hooks; this evolving identity, built across a series of socially conscious and musically expansive releases, will be brought to Bucharest on June 15, when the band performs live at Expirat.

Their debut album, No Sense No Feeling (2019), introduced a lyrical focus rooted in social and political themes, while also carrying an undercurrent of optimism that distinguishes their approach from more traditionally bleak hardcore narratives. This direction was further developed on Blending (2022), where the band expanded both their sonic palette and thematic scope, reinforcing their ability to merge introspection with intensity.

Most recently, Guided Tour, a 11-track release, pushes their sound even further, traversing styles that range from street punk immediacy to jangling indie textures, heavy alternative riffing, and shoegaze-tinged spoken word passages. Despite this stylistic breadth, the record maintains the band’s defining intensity, tying its diverse elements into a cohesive, high-energy whole.

The Bucharest show will open with Take No More, a metallic hardcore band from Bucharest, Romania, setting the tone for an evening centered on aggressive energy and live intensity before High Vis take the stage.
